Nevis Valley View
Design and build by Hunter & Craig
The brief:
Our clients came to us with a very clear idea of achieving a modern and substantial addition to their home with added quirky features to personalize it as theirs. Based on the initial conversations and sketches from the owner our design team went to work on delivering this sleek contemporary addition to their existing home along with the many interesting or unusual features the client wanted.
The project:
The biggest challenge of this project was running the construction while the owners lived in the existing house. Having done this before we were able, with careful planning from our project manager and a lot of thoughtfulness from the build team, ensure the build ran efficiently while minimizing disruption to the client’s family life. Being very involved in the design of this home the clients along the way made numerous changes that required the design to be tweaked. These changes also took careful planning and some additional documentation requirements from the design team.
The result:
The result ultimately met and surpassed the initial brief and there plus the additional modifications resulted in a stunning family home. This home is a good example of the collaboration between client, design team and our construction crew not just to create something special as to do so in a site constrained by the close presence of the client.
